Privacy Policy
SceneHelix is a local-first television and movie companion. We designed it to work without a SceneHelix account and to keep your library under your control.
Information SceneHelix stores
Your library, followed people, watched episodes, viewing progress, streaming-service preferences, notification preferences, and other app settings are stored on your device. SceneHelix does not operate an account system or collect this information on a developer-owned server.
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync, the app stores your library, followed people, and viewing progress in your private CloudKit database so they can sync across devices signed in to your Apple Account. Apple operates iCloud and CloudKit under Apple’s privacy terms. SceneHelix’s developer cannot view your private CloudKit records.
Movie and television information
SceneHelix requests movie and television metadata, artwork, cast information, reviews, recommendations, release information, and streaming availability from TMDB. Requests can include the title or TMDB identifier being viewed, your selected content region, and ordinary network information necessary to deliver the service. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Entertainment news
Entertainment Buzz retrieves publicly available RSS feed information such as headlines, summaries, images, publication names, dates, and article links. Opening a story takes you to the original publisher, whose privacy policy then applies.
Notifications and widgets
If you allow notifications, SceneHelix schedules release reminders locally on your device. Home Screen widgets use app data shared locally through Apple’s App Groups technology. You can change notification permissions in iOS Settings and remove widgets at any time.
Advertising and tracking
SceneHelix version 1.0 does not display advertising, does not sell personal information, and does not use data to track you across apps or websites.
Retention and deletion
On-device information remains until you remove it in SceneHelix or delete the app. When iCloud sync is enabled, synchronized information remains in your private iCloud database and can be managed through Apple’s iCloud controls.
Children
SceneHelix is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as SceneHelix evolves. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision.
